We relish opportunities to create memorable events, both during the workday and after hours. From clam bakes to cocktail parties, every occasion receives the same exceptional care and attention to detail at The Good Table.
Behind the scenes, we provide the skillful support that’s required to put on worry-free events. Clients rely on us to take care of all the details—decorations, linens, flowers, staffing coordination, set up and clean up—and of course, a custom-designed menu.
After meeting one-on-one to learn what kind of food and atmosphere is desired for an event, we devise sample menus to carry out the designated theme. Throughout the planning process, we continue to confer together to ensure each function is outstanding, and we thoughtfully implement any theme, be it an Oktoberfest lunch or a black-tie affair.
If a beach-party motif is being considered, we help define whether the fare should be reminiscent of the Hamptons or an oceanside boardwalk. If the request is for a barbecue, we help determine if the style will be along the lines of finger-lickin’ ribs partnered with cornbread, or grilled Chilean sea bass and chopped gazpacho salad. Then we find suitable decorations to pull it all together, creating just the right mood.
Companies that provide opportunities for employees to relax together in a fun atmosphere tell us they enjoy increased morale and higher productivity. They often discover before finishing dessert that everyone’s already talking about new ideas for next year’s event. Whether as a treat for your employees or to woo new clients, special events are good for business.

Theme Lunches & Dinners
A Taste of the Mediterranean
This festive lunchtime gathering featured a Mediterranean-influenced menu that would spotlight an array of sunny flavors from Greece, Italy, Spain, and the Middle East, and encourage mingling among the company’s 120 employees. The mezze table primed appetites with familiar (hummus) as well as not-so-familiar (mujammara) tastes, while the dessert table capped the meal with classics such as flan, cannoli, and baklava. In between, guests feasted on Greek souvlakia and Spanish paella and were introduced to some lesser-known regional salads, sides, and flatbreads. Linens and decorations reflected the traditional blue-and-white color combo so prevalent throughout the Mediterranean.
Feast of San Gennaro
Our client wanted a colorful Italian-themed festival in a courtyard setting, so we designed a menu for 120 with sidewalk fare you’d find in Little Italy, NYC. A singer-guitarist entertained while guests savored tasty street food (think grilled sausage and meatball sliders) plus freshly made pizzas, fried calamari, and eggplant rollantini—among other Neapolitan faves. Not surprisingly, dessert disappeared faster than you can say ricotta cheesecake and cannoli. The Italian flag inspired our red-green-white palette for linens, napkins, and decorations, which included miniature pepper plants potted in San Marzano tomato cans.
To serve 475 guests at this autumn lunch in Purchase, NY, The Good Table showcased the diverse flavors that have shaped the Hawaiian palate. In keeping with the luau theme, we arranged four food stations—Kahlua Grille, Maui Harvest, Asian Influence, and Pacific Bounty—amidst a lovely courtyard setting. Decorative accents included vibrant linens, bamboo plates, and thatched roofing. View a PDF of the complete menu.
Weekend Shredding Party
When a Westchester County brokerage firm wanted to introduce potential customers to their services, they held a shredding party. For this budget-conscious affair, they hired a mobile shredding unit, requested a lunch featuring shredded foods, and invited 40 guests to bring outdated documents. Our whimsical menu included pulled pork sliders, tostadas filled with barbecued shredded beef, and vegetarian chili topped with—you guessed it, shredded Cheddar.
After-Hours July Barbecue
The 235 employees and family members who attended this casual picnic enjoyed a versatile mixed-grille menu while listening to live music. We prepared salads inspired by the season, plus fun-to-eat food that would appeal to kids as well as their parents. For dessert, we offered a deluxe ice cream sundae bar. View a PDF of the full menu.
A Greenwich, CT client with a strong interest in eating locally grown and organic foods asked us to prepare a lunch for 200 featuring ingredients produced by family farms. We developed a tempting multi-course menu sourced from 22 artisan purveyors. From the roasted turkey with hardwood-smoked bacon to the Jersey cream butter on each table, every ingredient was carefully chosen to highlight its unique flavor. See our Sample Catering Menus page for the full menu.
Small-Scale Holiday Lunch
For this annual December meal, our client wanted a simple-yet-bountiful menu for 30 featuring winter fare. We chose a comfort-food theme, fixing seasonal favorites such as a ragoût of winter vegetables and slow-roasted pork loin with fennel and acorn squash. Then we pulled out all the stops on dessert.
Large-Scale Holiday Party
Our lavish menu for this evening event was designed so employees and their guests could easily mingle when they weren’t dancing to the music of a live band. Aside from serving an array of hors d’oeuvres, we featured a seafood bar along with brochette, carving, charcuterie, and pasta stations. An irresistible chocolate fountain capped off the evening for the 200 guests. Linens and flowers added elegant touches to the festive affair. View a PDF of the full menu for more details.
