Planning a Perfect Event
Meeting with The Good Table’s owner and executive chef is the first step in the process. They’ll ask you questions to learn what it would take to make this an outstanding occasion, then listen to what you envision for cuisine, service, and atmosphere. Afterwards, they will customize your menu, prepare a staffing plan, and provide a cost estimate that aligns with your wishes and your budget.
Details Make the Difference
No detail is too big or small for The Good Table. If rentals are needed—tables, chairs, linens—we handle the logistics. We also consult with florists to choose flowers and decorations to accent a menu’s theme. Need recommendations for wine pairings or local microbrews to compliment that menu? Our vendors will provide offerings sure to please you and your guests. Not surprisingly, we have built our reputation on going the extra mile to do things right.

Fundraisers & Receptions
B.B. King Concert-&-Dinner School Fundraiser
For the Greenwich Education Group’s School Foundation fundraiser held at Port Chester’s historic Capitol Theatre, we served a light dinner to 120 guests before the legendary blues musician performed to an enthusiastic crowd. Our menu was inspired by the fare at B.B. King’s own Memphis Club restaurant. Part of our challenge in creating this fun menu was to choose foods we could prepare and serve without the benefit of an on-site kitchen. Dinner included cocktails, passed mini crab cakes and coconut shrimp, pasta stations, and slider stations featuring down-home Southern smoked pulled pork, barbecued brisket, and fried chicken po’boy flavors. Before the King of the Blues took the stage, guests received dessert to go — customized brownie favors from Vermont Brownie Company.
“Thank you again to The Good Table for providing us with excellent food which complimented a wonderful event and raised scholarship money for under-served children. Not only is the food always delicious, but The Good Table is organized, professional, and easy to work with!” – Victoria Newman, Executive Director, Greenwich Education Group
Summertime School Reunion
For this private high school reunion in Rowayton, CT, the planning committee wanted hors d’oeuvres, which included an outdoor grill station and local artisan cheeses, to precede a buffet dinner. The menu was designed so the 130 guests could easily circulate and reminisce on the premises of their former school. View a PDF of the complete menu.
Teacher Appreciation Reception
The parents association of a private Japanese high school in Purchase, New York hired The Good Table to cater a teacher appreciation reception in a courtyard setting. We created a menu for 300 guests that would appeal to teens as well as adults. This relaxed-yet-sophisticated affair featured a variety of international flavors served as appetizers and finger food. For dessert, we hired a gourmet ice cream cart—which guests of all ages adored. View a PDF of the full menu.

Surprise Birthday Party
To surprise his wife on her 40th birthday, our client invited 20 guests to celebrate the milestone with a tantalizing late-summer dinner party on their home patio. Guests enjoyed appetizers such as a Middle Eastern Meze and grilled shrimp-and-scallop skewers served at a stationary display, followed by a three-course sit-down dinner with a choice of ginger-miso glazed salmon or a vegetarian plate. Birthday cake and handmade chocolates provided a perfect finale. Kaleidoscope fire orange, mango, and red linens added a vibrant touch to the evening, as did the mason jars brimming with jelly beans that decorated the children’s table.
Outdoor Dinner Party
A Greenwich, CT couple planned to invite 65 friends, family and business associates to their new home for a dinner party. They wanted a sumptuous meal consisting of passed and stationary hors d’oeuvres followed by an elegant sit-down dinner. Kayak Skills Symposiums
A kayak outfitter hired us to cater meals for two outdoor workshops along the Hudson River serving a total of 200 participants. They needed portable breakfasts and lunches plus informal barbecue dinner fare so participants could relax together after an energetic day on the water. We provided continental breakfasts and hardy grab-and-go box lunches designed to keep the kayakers in good paddling form. Evening times, the crowd enjoyed burgers—beef and veggie—along with flavorful salads while watching the sun go down.
Super Bowl Party
When this client decided on a Super Bowl party at his home, he contacted us to prepare a casual no-fuss menu for 40 guests. We put the emphasis on fun, easy-to-eat favorites so the host could sit back and enjoy the game along with his guests.
